Immigration Associate Attorney (LL.M. / J.D.)
Location: New York, NY
Practice Area: Immigration Law
We are seeking an Immigration Associate Attorney who is bilingual in Chinese and English.
Qualifications
- LL.M. with at least 2 years of immigration law experience; or
- J.D. graduate (immigration law experience preferred)
- Ability to travel for court hearings and between the firm's New York office locations as needed
- Strong legal research, writing, and advocacy skills
- Excellent communication and client service abilities
- Professional proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese, including the ability to communicate effectively with clients, courts, and government agencies, and to review and analyze translated documents for legal accuracy.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients before Immigration Court and USCIS
- Handle asylum, removal defense, family-based, and other immigration matters
- Draft motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and supporting documentation
- Conduct client consultations and prepare clients for hearings and interviews
- Develop case strategies and manage caseloads independently
