Columbiana Health & Rehabilitation is seeking an experienced Business Office Manager with a strong background in healthcare billing, collections, accounts receivable, Medicare, and Medicaid.
This is an important leadership role within our facility. You'll oversee business office operations, help ensure accurate and timely reimbursement, manage accounts receivable and collections, and work closely with facility and regional leadership to support the financial health of the organization.

The Business Office Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful and timely completion of the facility's business and financial functions in accordance with company policies, established procedures, and applicable state and federal requirements.
A major focus of this position is medical billing, accounts receivable, reimbursement, and collections. The Business Office Manager works to maximize reimbursement, maintain accurate financial records, resolve outstanding accounts, and promote an efficient and well-organized business office.

Manage healthcare billing, accounts receivable, and collection activities

Monitor outstanding accounts and proactively follow up on unpaid or delayed claims

Oversee billing and reimbursement processes for Medicare Part A & B, Medicaid, managed care/HMOs, and other payer sources

Review accounts for accuracy and identify reimbursement or collection issues

Work to resolve billing discrepancies, denials, and outstanding balances

Maintain accurate resident financial and billing records

Complete required financial reports accurately and on schedule

Monitor facility accounts receivable and collection performance

Communicate professionally with residents, responsible parties, insurance carriers, and payer representatives

Coordinate with facility leadership and other departments regarding financial and billing matters

Maintain confidentiality of resident, financial, and business information

Ensure business office practices comply with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements

Promote an organized, efficient, and customer-focused business office

Experience with healthcare medical billing and collections

Experience with nursing home or long-term care accounts receivable strongly preferred

Working knowledge of Medicare Part A & B, Medicaid, managed care/HMOs, and third-party reimbursement

Knowledge of accounting practices and reimbursement programs

Strong accounts receivable and collection skills

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to maintain confidentiality and produce accurate work in a deadline-driven environment

Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Healthcare Management, or a related field highly preferred
