Primary Purpose:
The Dining Services Supervisor is responsible for the overall management and coordination of dining services for Inspiration Ministries dining room (front of the house). The Dining Services Supervisor assists with orders dining room supplies, monitors food safety and sanitations standards, and creates a safe and positive work environment. The Dining Services Supervisor trains, manages, and supervises dining room staff, and ensures the highest possible resident satisfaction. This position may assist with developing menus. The Dining Services Supervisor collaborates closely with the Food Services Supervisor to ensure a coordinated and efficient operation of the department. The successful candidate must have excellent organization and communication skills as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
Major Job Responsibilities
Dining Room Service:
- Serves as a head server.
- Maintains high cleanliness/sanitation standards, maintains an orderly and efficient dining room, and supervises and participates in the cleaning and sanitizing on a daily basis.
- Supervises that workers are trained in service skills and food safety. Supervises that food is served following special dietary requirements of residents.
- Monitors inventory levels and ensures the dining room is always properly stocked. Conducts monthly inventory counts.
- Works with departments to coordinate catering and special events.
- Solicits feedback and ideas from residents regarding meal and menu planning.
- Ensures that all equipment in the dining room and kitchen is in safe, working condition and immediately notifies Maintenance Department when repairs cannot be performed by the department staff.
- Appropriately delegates duties to ensure maximum efficiency for all dining room staff.
- Communicates Dining Room Service program needs to leadership on as needed basis in regards to supplies and equipment.
- Routinely interacts with residents, staff and visitors in a professional and kind way, conducts daily dining room rounds to ensure resident satisfaction.
Leadership & Management:
- Scheduling, Staffing, Payroll, PTO
- Quality Assurance/Improvement Regulatory
- Monitors and maintains high standards for food storage areas, food safety, food handling, kitchen, and dining room and ensures that dining room staff adheres to all health, safety, and food service regulations, per DHS 83. Assists with monitoring for regulatory compliance and participates in surveys/ inspections from WI DHS, County Health Inspector, or other regulatory bodies.
Communication, Teamwork, Collaboration
Education and Experience
- Years ofExperience: 3+ years of experience in dining service roles, 1+ years of supervisory experience.
- Work Experience: Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations and standards.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Able to multitask and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED Required, Degree or Certification in Food Service or Hospitality Management or related field preferred, Culinary or Food Service Training or commensurate work experience required.
Certifications
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work flexible hours for coverage or special events
Pay: From $20.50 per hour
Work Location: In person
