Our company is seeking a dependable and professional Surveillance Investigator to conduct field investigations primarily in Staten Island, New York.
This is an independent contractor position with assignments initially offered on a part-time/as-needed basis. Additional assignments and increased workload may be available based upon performance, reliability, availability, and business needs.
The primary responsibility of this position is to conduct discreet surveillance and obtain clear, relevant video documentation of a subject's activities. Investigators must be comfortable working independently, spending extended periods in a vehicle, following subjects when necessary, and adapting to changing circumstances in the field.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting discreet mobile and stationary surveillance.
- Obtaining clear and usable video documentation.
- Following subjects by vehicle and, when appropriate, on foot.
- Accurately documenting surveillance activities, observations, times, locations, vehicles, and movements.
- Preparing concise, objective, fact-based surveillance timelines.
- Uploading reports, video, photographs, and other investigative materials electronically.
- Reviewing assignment instructions and maintaining awareness of scheduled appointments, deadlines, and assignment updates.
- Maintaining timely communication with FourCee management regarding assignment status and significant developments.
Preferred qualifications:
- Prior surveillance or investigative experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to write clearly and factually.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to electronically prepare and upload reports and video.
- Dependable vehicle and valid driver's license.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in the field.
- Flexibility to accommodate early-morning starts and varying assignment schedules.
- Familiarity with Staten Island and surrounding areas is highly desirable.
Candidates selected to perform certain client assignments will be required to satisfy applicable background, fingerprinting, and client-approval requirements before receiving those assignments.
This position is well suited for a reliable investigator who is looking to establish an ongoing relationship with an investigative firm and who may be interested in increased assignments and responsibilities over time.
