Your Mission: As a Budtender Lead, you’ll be the face of The Plug, providing our customers with expert guidance on our cannabis products. You’ll help create a welcoming and educational environment, ensuring every customer leaves with a smile and the perfect product for their needs.
What You’ll Do:
Leadership Responsibilities:

Assist management in training, mentoring, and developing budtenders

Lead by example in customer service excellence and product knowledge

Coordinate daily staff assignments and help manage scheduling

Support managers in evaluating team performance and providing constructive feedback

Step in as shift supervisor when managers are unavailable
Customer Service Excellence:

Greet customers genuinely and enthusiastically and provide exceptional service throughout their visit

Make every customer feel valued and ensure they have a positive and memorable experience

Set the standard for customer interaction and service quality

Handle complex customer inquiries or concerns that may be escalated by other team members
Product Expertise:

Become our in-house product authority with advanced knowledge of cannabis products, effects, and usage

Stay ahead of industry trends, research, and new product developments

Develop and implement product education initiatives for both staff and customers

Collaborate with management on curating our product selection

Lead product knowledge training sessions for team members
Sales Leadership:

Drive store sales through exemplary customer service and strategic selling techniques

Coach other budtenders on effective upselling and cross-selling approaches

Work toward team sales goals and motivate staff to achieve individual targets

Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth

Partner with vendors to plan and execute in-store demonstrations and promotional events
Operational Support:

Assist managers with inventory management, including receiving, auditing, and merchandising

Help maintain compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations

Ensure store presentation meets company standards through regular floor checks

Support opening and closing procedures

Assist in implementing new operational processes and procedures
Community Building:

Develop relationships with regular customers and develop loyalty programs

Represent The Plug at community events and industry functions when needed

Gather and analyze customer feedback to improve product offerings and services

Help cultivate The Plug's reputation as a knowledgeable, trusted cannabis retailer
What You’ll Need:

Experience: Previous experience in a customer service or retail role is preferred. Experience in the cannabis industry is a plus but not required.

Cannabis Knowledge: A strong understanding of cannabis products, strains, and consumption methods. A willingness to learn and stay updated on industry trends. Ability to convey complex information in an easy-to-understand manner.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to build rapport with customers and explain product information clearly and confidently.

Customer Focus: A passion for helping others and providing top-notch customer service. Ability to handle customer inquiries, provide tailored recommendations, and resolve complaints professionally and effectively.

Sales Skills: Proven ability to meet sales targets, upsell, and enhance the customer experience. Strong persuasive skills and the ability to build lasting customer relationships.

Organizational Skills: Impeccable organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, maintain a clean workspace, and ensure all products are properly stocked and displayed.

Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of local and state cannabis retail laws and regulations is a plus.

Age & ID: Must be at least 21 years old and possess a valid driver’s license or state ID.

Background Check: Must pass all required background checks.
Compensation:

Competitive hourly wage based on experience ranging from $17-$18.
