As an Emergency Department RN, you will provide direct patient care, evaluate outcomes, collaborate with physicians and specialists, and ensure patients receive timely, safe, and effective treatment.
This role requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work confidently in a high-acuity environment.
- Performing comprehensive head-to-toe patient assessments and reassessments
- Assessing pain levels and implementing effective pain management strategies
- Educating patients and families on treatment plans and pain management
- Monitoring hemodynamic status and accurately interpreting results
- Providing cardiac monitoring, identifying dysrhythmias, and initiating appropriate interventions
- Accurately assigning triage categories
- Completing thorough nursing histories and maintaining precise documentation
- Administering medications safely and appropriately based on patient condition and age
- Preparing, hanging, monitoring, and discontinuing IV fluids
- Assisting physicians with Emergency Department procedures
- Supporting patient and family education and care planning
- Maintaining a safe, therapeutic, and compassionate care environment
- Collaborating across departments to support quality patient outcomes
- Assisting with orientation of new employees
- Supporting ER Director with implementation of core measures
- Participating in ongoing professional development and education
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS certification
- At least 6 months of previous Emergency Department or acute care RN experience
