The Dining Host fosters an enjoyable, casual dining experience while providing quality customer service and addressing dining-related concerns or matters requiring attention.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (*CF indicates Critical Function)
- Ensures residents, staff, visitors, and guests have an enjoyable dining experience by providing quality customer service

Coordinates the reservation system to maintain proper timing of reservations (*CF)

Contacts residents, as needed, to review menu options. Receives food orders for to-go and takeout meals and coordinates all delivery and pick-up (*CF)

Makes sure that the dining room is free of potential hazards to residents, including stowing all walkers and other ambulatory devices in the proper location (*CF)
- Rounds the Dining Room to assist the wait staff while promoting a pleasurable experience for all guests

Assists the Wait Staff, when necessary, with taking food orders, waiting on tables, and lending a hand where needed to enhance the dining experience

Follows all emergency procedures and proper evacuation of the Dining Room
- Maintains proper hygiene while serving, to include wearing gloves and washing hands when needed

Must be able to work evening shifts, to include a day on the weekend, as standard schedule

Completes all required training and in-services

- Prior experience preferred

- Able to write legibly, takes oral and written instructions well

Has demonstrated knowledge of appropriate skills for communicating with individuals of all ages, especially the elderly or geriatric population
