Position Summary
MBT Footwear is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Part-Time Returns Processing Specialist to help keep customer returns moving accurately and on time.
This is a light-duty, in-office role focused on receiving, inspecting, documenting, and processing returned footwear. Timely returns processing is important because customers are waiting for refunds or exchanges, and eligible products need to be returned to inventory promptly.
The work is heaviest at the beginning of the week, especially Monday afternoons after return shipments are delivered. Tuesday is typically the second-busiest day, with follow-up from Monday’s returns, returning eligible products to inventory, and processing new Tuesday returns. The rest of the week is generally lighter and may involve follow-up work as needed.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys organized, hands-on work, accurate data entry, and a steady part-time schedule.
Schedule
This position averages approximately 10–15 hours per week.
Candidates should be available primarily on Monday and Tuesday afternoons beginning around 2:00 PM, after daily return shipments are delivered.
A typical weekly schedule may include:
- Monday afternoon: Receive and process weekend returns after delivery. This is typically the heaviest returns day.
- Tuesday afternoon: Continue processing Tuesday returns, complete follow-up from Monday, and return eligible products back into inventory.
- Wednesday–Friday: Light follow-up work as needed to keep returns current and ensure customer refunds and exchanges are processed in a timely manner.
The exact schedule can be discussed, but regular availability on Monday and Tuesday afternoons is strongly preferred.
What You’ll Do
- Receive and organize returned footwear and related paperwork
- Match returned items to customer orders and return authorization information
- Inspect returned footwear for condition, wear, damage, packaging, and resale eligibility
- Enter return notes and basic return details into company systems
- Help process returns so customer refunds and exchanges can be completed promptly
- Prepare eligible products to be returned to inventory
- Place processed products back into the appropriate inventory stacks or locations
- Separate items that require additional review, cleaning, damage assessment, or disposal
- Communicate with customer care or warehouse staff regarding return status when needed
- Maintain a clean and organized returns processing area
- Identify common return reasons, product issues, or repeated concerns and report them to management

- Previous experience in returns, inventory, warehouse support, retail, customer service, ecommerce, or order processing is helpful but not required
Physical Requirements
This is considered light-duty work. The role may involve standing or sitting for periods of time, opening packages, handling shoe boxes, inspecting footwear, organizing returned products, and light lifting of typical footwear cartons.
