Who We Are
TimeShark.ai is a growing startup helping restaurants and hospitality businesses handle inbound phone calls with AI voice agents. Our platform answers calls, manages reservations, handles customer questions, and helps operators reduce missed calls and staff interruptions.
As an official OpenTable partner, we help restaurants deliver better guest experiences by combining voice AI with reservation workflows and modern communication infrastructure.
About the Role
We’re looking for a part-time Telephony Implementation Specialist to help new restaurant customers connect their existing phone numbers and phone systems to the TimeShark voice AI agent. This role requires specific experience with 3CX for onboarding clients onto our platform.
You’ll work with our onboarding team to configure call forwarding, SIP routing, number porting, PBX settings, failover flows, and carrier-side changes across real-world restaurant phone environments. These systems may include providers like Spectrum, Verizon, Comcast Business, AT&T, RingCentral, 8x8, Vonage, or local telecom vendors.
This is a hands-on role for someone who knows how business phone systems actually work in the field and enjoys solving messy, practical telecom problems.
What You’ll Do
- Own the telephony setup portion of new customer onboarding.
- Coordinate with telecom carriers, customer IT teams, phone vendors, and on-site technicians when needed.
- Configure and troubleshoot call forwarding, SIP routing, DIDs, IVRs, failover paths, and caller ID behavior.
- Assist with number porting, temporary forwarding, cutover planning, and rollback procedures.
- Troubleshoot issues such as missed calls, routing errors, dropped calls, audio issues, latency, and incorrect caller ID.
- Document customer-specific configurations, edge cases, and repeatable onboarding steps.
- Help improve our internal playbooks for faster, more reliable deployments.
- Configure and provision devices, extensions, and SIP trunks using 3CX.
- Join client calls to walk owners/managers through setup, answer questions, and set expectations for the transition.
What You Should Have
- Hands-on experience with business telephony, VoIP, SIP, or PBX systems.
- Strong understanding of call routing, call forwarding, IVRs, DIDs, extensions, SIP trunks, and failover logic.
- Experience working with telecom carriers or business phone providers such as Spectrum, Comcast Business, Verizon Business, AT&T, RingCentral, 8x8, Vonage, or similar.
- Ability to troubleshoot poorly documented or legacy phone environments.
- Comfort communicating with non-technical restaurant operators, IT contacts, telecom vendors, and internal team members.
- Strong attention to detail during phone line cutovers and customer onboarding.
- A practical, get-it-working mindset.
Nice to Have
- Experience with restaurant, hospitality, retail, or other SMB customers.
- Familiarity with PBX platforms such as Asterisk, FreePBX, 3CX, Avaya, Cisco, or similar.
Engagement Details
- Part-time contract role, approximately 10–20 hours per week to start.
- Compensation $35-50/ hour depending on experience
- Remote, with US time zone overlap preferred.
- Flexible schedule, with availability for scheduled customer cutovers and occasional time-sensitive troubleshooting.
- Opportunity to grow with the company as onboarding volume scales.
Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
