Position Summary
The Operations Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of plant operations, including Production, Maintenance, Logistics, Quality, Safety, and Customer Service. This position drives operational excellence by ensuring efficient workflow, maximizing productivity, maintaining quality standards, and developing high-performing teams. The Operations Manager will play a key role in achieving operational goals while supporting business growth and exceptional customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations of a high-volume commercial laundry facility.
- Manage production, maintenance, distribution, and customer service functions to ensure operational efficiency.
- Ensure all operations comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Develop and execute strategies to improve productivity, quality, and cost performance.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve profitability.
- Partner with leadership to establish operational goals, budgets, and performance expectations.
- Oversee staffing levels, workforce planning, employee development, and succession planning.
- Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors and department managers to build a strong leadership team.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and employee engagement.
- Ensure equipment, machinery, and facility resources are properly maintained to support uninterrupted operations.
- Manage facility expenditures and support cost-control initiatives.
- Review operational reports and metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to maintain high levels of service and satisfaction.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in commercial laundry, textile services, industrial manufacturing, or a related production environment.
- Previous experience managing a high-volume laundry operation strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to lead large teams and achieve operational objectives.
- Strong understanding of production management, workflow optimization, labor planning, and quality control.
- Experience managing multiple departments in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to motivate, coach, and develop employees and leadership teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement experience is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
