Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals and a strong desire to provide exceptional care for pets in our facility. As a Kennel Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the well-being of the animals in our care, maintaining cleanliness in the kennel environment, and assisting with various tasks related to animal care.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for our dogs and puppies, including feeding, walking, and exercising.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, play areas, and equipment to ensure a safe environment for pets.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to owner.
- Assist with grooming tasks as needed, including bathing and brushing pets and assisting with keeping dogs in top notch condition.
- Support dog training sessions and reinforce positive behaviors during interactions with animals.
- Help with administrative tasks such as record keeping.
Skills
- Experience in dog handling and animal care is essential; kennel experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of showing dogs and show grooming skills is a plus.
- Familiarity with pet grooming techniques is beneficial.
- Ability to perform animal restraint safely when necessary.
- Attention to cleanliness in detail is a must.
- A passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing high-quality care.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
