Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to serve as a Supervisor within our healthcare facility. This leadership role involves overseeing nursing staff, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and delivering exceptional patient care across various settings including long-term care, assisted living, and acute care environments. The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical experience, strong management skills, and a commitment to improving patient outcomes through effective supervision and coordination of nursing services.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily nursing operations, ensuring adherence to LTC protocols, HIPAA regulations.
- Oversee patient assessments, vital signs, medication administration, and medical documentation using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth.
- Manage patient care plans including discharge planning, nutrition, pain management, and infection control procedures.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards including airway management, sterile technique, infection control practices, and use of Hoyer lifts or neonatal ventilators when applicable.
- Coordinate diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory testing, medical imaging, sonography, spinal taps, and cardiac catheterization procedures.
- Facilitate working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics with dementia or Alzheimer's care needs; pediatric patients from neonatal to toddler care; individuals with disabilities or developmental delays.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all patient interactions in compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
Skills
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks; ICD-9/10 coding; CPT coding; utilization review; utilization management; DRG processes; and medical documentation standards.
- Strong leadership abilities with supervising experience in nurse management or team leadership roles.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to medication administration (including injections), tube feeding, catheterization, phlebotomy, specimen collection/processing.
- Skilled in patient assessment techniques including vital signs measurement and physical examinations across diverse age groups—neonatal to adult—and conditions such as acute pain management or chronic disease care.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams in high-pressure environments
- Excellent communication skills for family planning discussions or health coaching; adept at managing complex cases involving behavioral health or mental health considerations.
- Experience working with people with disabilities or developmental challenges is preferred.
