Job Summary
The Housing Case Manager plays a crucial role in providing support to Sky Light Center's Supported Housing Program tenants. This position requires a strong understanding of social services and property management with a focus on creating a safe and supportive permanent living environment. The ideal candidate will possess skills in social service, as well as knowledge of mental health and SUD.
Duties
- Support up to 30 adults with mental health and SUD living in integrated scattered site apartments in Staten Island
- Provide crisis intervention and support for tenants facing challenges related to addiction or other social issues.
- Conduct regular inspections of properties to ensure safety, cleanliness, and maintenance standards are met.
- Collaborate with local agencies and organizations to provide resources and support for residents.
- Maintain accurate records using electronic health record software (AWARDS), including tenant files, maintenance requests, and financial reports.
- Facilitate communication between residents and management, addressing concerns promptly and effectively.
- Negotiate contracts with service providers to ensure quality services are delivered to residents.
Experience
- Proven experience in social work is preferred. Bachelors or Masters Degree in a related field preferred.
- Strong time management skills required.
- Strong skills in crisis management, intervention techniques, and addiction counseling are beneficial.
- Excellent communication skills a must
- Excellent negotiation skills to effectively manage leases and property management needs.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record software is an advantage.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
