Job Overview
We’re seeking a skilled Certified Public Accountant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has at least five years of tax preparation experience, three years working on small business tax returns, and a strong understanding of QuickBooks Online—including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting. This role requires an analytical mind with the ability to assess financial data, make adjusting entries, and prepare custom reports for internal stakeholders and clients. Duties
- Handle small business filings and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
- Perform full-cycle QuickBooks Online tasks including reconciliations, journal entries, and report generation
- Analyze financial statements to identify discrepancies and propose adjusting entries
- Develop and deliver custom financial reports for internal use and client presentations
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation across all engagement files
- Stay current on tax law changes and advise clients on implications
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot accounting issues and elevate client outcomes
- Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to both clients and internal stakeholders
Skills
- Tax preparation for individuals, partnerships, and corporations (5+ years)
- Small business tax expertise, including pass-through entities (3+ years)
- QuickBooks Online proficiency — reconciliations, adjusting entries, reporting
- Financial data analysis and interpretation
- Preparation of custom financial reports for internal and client use
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations
