Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in delivering engaging lessons aligned with creative curriculum and NJ Preschool Teaching and learning standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional learning.
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and helping maintain a safe, organized learning environment.
- Provide individualized attention to children, especially those with special needs or disabilities, including experience working with children with autism or other developmental differences.
- Help implement lesson plans by preparing materials, setting up activities, and supporting hands-on learning experiences.
- Foster social skills and emotional development through effective behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement techniques.
- Collaborate with teachers on curriculum development and classroom activities to ensure an enriching educational experience.
- Maintain open communication with parents and staff regarding student progress and classroom events, ensuring a cohesive support system for each child.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with young children in educational or childcare settings such as daycare, preschool, or private schools.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles, including childhood behavior management and classroom management techniques.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, teachers, and support staff.
- Familiarity with curriculum development for preschool-aged students.
- Technical proficiency in using educational tools and resources to enhance classroom activities.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs such as autism is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to support teaching staff through classroom management assistance and instructional support roles.
- Passion for early childhood education combined with patience, creativity, and a proactive attitude toward student engagement.
