Job Summary
Foundational Roots Therapy is seeking a compassionate and skilled Associate Marriage and Family Therapist for a full-time (20 - 25 clients), on-site role. This position is ideal for an AMFT, APCC, or ACSW who is interested in joining a thriving, trauma-informed private practice. As an LMFT, I am dedicated to fostering both clinical growth and a workplace culture that values connection integrity, and care. This role involves providing comprehensive therapeutic services to individuals, couples, and families, with a focus on improving mental health and relational dynamics. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in clinical counseling, behavioral health, and family systems, along with experience working with diverse populations. This is a pre-licensed position and will therefore participate in individual and group supervision, in addition to didactic trainings while accruing hours for licensure.
We offer supportive supervision, training stipend at 6 months, set your own schedule, free consultation towards EMDR Certification (if EMDR-trained), quarterly lunch or dinners, and professional development assistance. We're credentialed with Cigna/Evernorth, and United.
Duties
- Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized treatment plans based on diagnostic evaluations.
- Provide individual, couples, and family therapy.
- Provide therapy for ages 12 + teens and adults.
- Log session notes using Sessions Health.
- Maintain and update client treatment plans.
- Must be punctual with returning phone calls, notes, session times, etc.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and manage crisis situations effectively to ensure patient safety.
- Collect and document medical records, progress notes, and treatment data in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Passion for helping diverse populations navigate mental health and relationship challenges.
- Maintain professional development through ongoing education/ training.
- Actively participate in individual and group supervision as well as didactic trainings.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Marriage & Family, Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology from an accredited program.
- Active associate registration number through the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, demonstrating compliance with pre-licensure requirements.
- Proficiency in providing psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, and families under supervision.
- Demonstrate competency in mental health counseling and the ability to assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for clients.
- Proficiency in conducting individual therapy sessions, providing personalized interventions to address clients' unique needs and goals.
- Strong ability in comprehensive note-taking, maintaining accurate and detailed client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Experience in trauma-informed care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a therapeutic alliance with clients and collaborating effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ethical practice and ongoing professional development.
- EMDR-trained is a plus.
