Reporting to the Assistant Controller, this person is involved in multiple areas of general ledger accounting. This will include, but not be limited to, preparing and reviewing journals entries, assisting with the month-end close process, partnering with the FP&A team on financial analysis, identifying efficiencies and implementing solutions, and assisting with internal accounting projects. This person will work closely with the Senior Accountant, Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable and Payroll accounting team members, review technical accounting guidelines and determine real-life applications.
Responsibilities:
- Complete assigned month-end close tasks to assist team to reach the goal of closing books within 5 business days
- Ensure completeness of assigned balance sheet reconciliations, including but not limited to cash, fixed assets, prepaid expenses and accrued expenses
- Perform month-over- month analytics for Cost of Revenue and Operating Expenses financial statement line items
- Collaborate with FP&A, Sales & Events teams to ensure expenses are appropriately stated and accrued for
- Ability to implement process changes around identified operational opportunities to create efficiencies
- Ownership over internal accounting policies and procedures, specific to assigned operational and month-end close tasks
- Assist with annual audit, including preparing audit support and communicating with internal accounting team and external audit team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Accounting
- Minimum 2 years’ experience, with at least 1 year in public accounting
- Demonstrate an understanding of the business model of a SaaS company
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CPA Eligible candidate preferred
- Strong ability to analyze and apply accounting principles under US GAAP
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and Word.
- NetSuite experience is preferred
