Responsibilities
- Handle daily cash transactions accurately, including deposits, withdrawals, and check cashing, ensuring compliance with bank policies and security procedures.
- Assist customers with account inquiries, updates, and basic banking needs while delivering excellent service that encourages customer loyalty.
- Monitor for potential fraud prevention and detection activities to safeguard customer accounts and bank assets.
- Educate clients on banking products and services such as savings accounts, loans, and investment options to support their financial goals.
- Maintain strict adherence to regulatory reporting standards and internal controls in line with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance and other financial regulations.
- Support cash management activities by reconciling cash drawers and preparing transaction reports at shift end.
- Collaborate with team members to uphold security protocols related to securities law, governmental accounting standards, and anti-fraud measures.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in banking or financial services is preferred but not required; a strong interest in finance is essential.
- Knowledge of financial concepts such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), investment management, and regulatory compliance is advantageous.
- Demonstrated understanding of banking operations including cash management, financial analysis, and technical accounting practices.
- Familiarity with financial software systems used for transaction processing and recordkeeping.
- Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude toward customer service.
- Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
