Job Summary:
Warner Hall is seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our opening team of culinary professionals in the historic estate’s new dining experiences – Austin’s Restaurant and Tavern 1642. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen operations. The Cook will play a vital role as part of Warner Hall’s culinary team by delivering an outstanding dining experience to our guests, preparing and presenting elevated dishes made from high-quality ingredients showcasing unique flavors and artistic plating, and maintaining exceptional standards of food safety and professionalism

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and assemble meals according to menu specifications, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
- Assist with menu planning and accommodate dietary needs and guest preferences
- Perform food preparation tasks including chopping, cooking, and plating dishes
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety protocols and sanitation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment in a safe manner at all times
- Ensure cleanliness of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils at all times
- A willingness to communicate with and serve meals to guests in a professional and courteous manner
- Follow proper food storage, handling, and rotation procedures
- Support catering events by preparing and serving food for large groups
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient operation during preparation, meal service, cleaning, and equipment storage times
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
- Assist with returning the kitchen to breakfast-ready condition at the end of the evening
Qualifications / Skills:
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant operations
- Knowledge of menu planning and meal assembly for various dietary restrictions
- Experience in fine dining or upscale restaurant environments is advantageous
- Skilled in food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation standards
- Proficiency in knife skills and professional meal preparation techniques
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- Completion of vocational culinary training, a two-year associate degree, or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum one year of professional cooking experience
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Exceptional time management skills
- ServSafe certification is preferred and can be employer-sponsored upon hire
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
