The Engineering Tech I at the Potomac River Test Range (PRTR) will have a foundational understanding of weapon systems. In this role, you will contribute to the successful execution of test operations. This role is ideal for a candidate who excels in documentation, analysis, and team-oriented environments, and who is committed to supporting high-quality testing processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for supporting the execution of Range Operations and Sustainment sub-task missions.
Maintains records/logs/data
Reviews documents
Provides input to test planning, execution, and reporting activities
Identifies deviations from expected outcomes
Notes equipment malfunctions
Effectively interfaces with Government, Military and Contractor personnel in a collaborative work environment facilitating goal achievement
Reviews test documentation to ensure that test plans and procedures align with objectives, criteria, and applicable military standards
Prepares comprehensive Test Incident Reports (TIRs) to detail mission timelines, deviations, equipment failures, and preventive and corrective maintenance actions
Monitors test events to adherence to approved test plans and to address deviations as needed
Maintains accurate logs, including recording equipment failures, data collection challenges, and procedural deviations in both digital and written formats
Collaborates with team, offering clear instruction and guidance to team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and operational goals are met
Performs simple routine tasks under close supervision or from detailed procedures
Assembles or installs equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting
Performs simple or routine tasks
Operates and adjusts simple test equipment
Records test data
Gathers and maintains specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc.
Performs computations by substituting numbers in specified formulas
Plots data and draws simple curves and graphs
Other duties as assigned
