Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Assist in assembling dishes according to menu specifications and presentation standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to strict food safety protocols
- Support cooking activities by following recipes and instructions from chefs or kitchen managers
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and rotation to minimize waste
- Help with basic food preparation tasks such as portioning
- Contribute to a positive team environment by communicating effectively and supporting fellow kitchen staff
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments, dietary aide roles, or food service environments preferred
- Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation techniques, and cooking methods
- Strong knife skills and familiarity with meal preparation standards in restaurant or catering settings
- Understanding of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
- Experience working in kitchens within the food industry or restaurant settings is highly desirable
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks efficiently
- Excellent attention to detail, organization skills, and a passion for culinary excellence
