Ten Sushi is seeking an experienced, hospitality-driven bartender to join our team. This is not an entry-level bartending position—we're looking for someone who is passionate about craft beverages, takes pride in exceptional guest service, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, upscale restaurant.
Our bar program emphasizes thoughtfully crafted cocktails, premium spirits, Japanese whisky, sake, wine, and beer. The right candidate will be excited to continue learning while helping us deliver one of Charlottesville's premier dining experiences.
What We're Looking For:
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of professional bartending experience
Extensive knowledge of:
- Craft cocktails
- Beer
- Wine
- Sake
- Japanese whisky
- Outstanding hospitality and guest engagement skills
- Fine dining or upscale casual restaurant experience
- Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dinner service while maintaining exceptional standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous bar manager or lead bartender experience
Position Details
- Tuesday–Saturday schedule (closed Sunday and Monday)
- Dinner service Tuesday through Saturday
- Friday and Saturday evenings continue into our late-night Tokyo Diner service, with the bar remaining open until 2:00 AM. Tokyo Diner is an extension of our dinner cocktail program, offering guests a relaxed, intimate atmosphere for thoughtfully crafted cocktails, Japanese whisky, sake, beer, and late-night small bites. This is not a nightclub environment—it's a refined after-dinner cocktail experience that emphasizes hospitality, quality, and genuine guest connection.
