Duties
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately to process sales, returns, and exchanges
- Greet customers warmly, answer questions, and assist with product demos when needed
- Handle cash, credit card transactions, and other payment methods with precision and integrity
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring products are properly stocked and merchandised
- Upsell relevant products to enhance customer satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Provide excellent phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online inquiries
- Support inventory management by stocking shelves, conducting stock checks, and assisting with merchandising efforts
- Engage in basic retail math to ensure accurate cash handling and register balancing
Experience
- Previous cashiering or retail sales experience preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is a plus
- Supervising experience in retail or customer service environments is advantageous
- Bilingual skills are highly valued to serve a diverse customer base effectively
- Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey information and provide excellent customer service in a grocery store setting
- Experience in product demos, upselling, merchandising, stocking, or grocery store operations is beneficial
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for retail transactions and cash handling tasks
