Defense Attorney
Location: Roseland, NJ (Hybrid)
Salary: $135,000 – $195,000+ (dependent on experience)

A well-regarded defense litigation firm is seeking a skilled Defense Attorney to join its team in Roseland, New Jersey. The Role
This position offers the opportunity to manage a varied caseload of personal injury defense matters, working closely with clients and senior attorneys while gaining hands-on litigation experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle personal injury defense cases from initial investigation through resolution
- Conduct claim investigations, including client and witness interaction with support from paralegals
- Review and analyze medical records to assess causation and damages
- Conduct and defend depositions, as well as participate in hearings and court appearances
- Manage discovery processes in accordance with New Jersey court rules
- Lead settlement negotiations and participate in mediations and other ADR proceedings
- Develop case strategies and drive matters toward efficient resolution
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school
- Admission to the New Jersey Bar required (New York admission a plus)
- 3+ years of experience in personal injury defense litigation
- Experience handling matters involving premises liability and related claims (labor law experience a plus)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage cases independently while working collaboratively within a team
