Duties
- Perform comprehensive auto body repairs including dent removal, panel replacement, and structural realignment using automotive welding equipment and sheet metal techniques
- Use MIG welding, soldering, and welding repair methods to restore vehicle frames and panels to factory specifications
- Fabricate custom parts and repair components through fabrication techniques such as cutting, shaping, and assembling sheet metal
- Conduct auto restoration projects focusing on automotive cosmetic repair, sanding tools, and auto refinishing to achieve high-quality finishes
- Install automotive parts including auto glass, bumpers, trim pieces, and other components with precision using hand tools and power tools
- Apply auto painting techniques such as airless paint spraying to ensure smooth, durable finishes that meet industry standards
- Perform vehicle maintenance tasks related to collision repair and automotive parts installation while adhering to safety protocols
- Maintain detailed documentation of repairs performed for accurate auto estimating and customer reporting
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an automotive body technician or in a similar role within a dealership or collision center environment
- Strong knowledge of automotive structural repair, auto body repair, and automotive cosmetic techniques
- Proficiency with MIG welding, soldering, welding repair, and fabrication repair techniques
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and automotive welding equipment
- Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and automotive parts installation
- Experience with auto restoration projects or heavy lifting tasks is a plus
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about repairs and processes
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high-quality standards
