The Plant Director is responsible for organizing, directing, and overseeing all daily manufacturing operations within the facility. This role provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production while achieving customer service, quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
The Plant Director analyzes operational data and performance metrics, leads and motivates employees, and ensures cross-functional collaboration across departments to maximize efficiency and productivity. This position drives continuous improvement, ensures on-time delivery (OTD), and achieves 100% quality while safeguarding the long-term success of manufacturing operations.
The Plant Director must comply with all company and departmental policies and procedures, including but not limited to Quality and Food Safety Policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and General and Safety Rules.

Essential Functions:
- Plan, direct, control, implement, evaluate, monitor, and forecast operations budgets and cost of sales to achieve financial objectives
- Lead coordination and integration of efforts among operations, engineering, and quality departments to improve workflow and reduce operating costs
- Ensure successful execution of customer orders by achieving on-time delivery, meeting or exceeding budget targets, and maintaining 100% quality standards
- Oversee procurement, production planning, staffing, training, and resource allocation to support operational excellence
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, legal, and contractual requirements, including OSHA, FDA, GMP, and AIB standards
- Maintain safe, compliant, and effective work environments in accordance with Health & Safety regulations
- Drive a continuous improvement culture throughout the organization, aligning all departments toward shared company goals
- Collaborate with senior leadership to promote accountability, ownership, and continuous operational improvement
- Participate in strategic planning and annual budgeting processes
- Oversee manufacturing, materials management (purchasing and planning), shipping and receiving, process and manufacturing engineering, and facility operations
- Review, analyze, and evaluate manufacturing processes and business procedures
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve daily operations and long-term performance
- Build organizational capability through effective hiring, training, employee relations, and communication for both management and hourly employees
- Maintain overall plant Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility for designated operational areas and special projects
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required; Technical or Engineering degree preferred
- Minimum 15 years of leadership and management experience, including responsibility for 100+ employees
- Minimum 15 years of experience in a lean manufacturing environment; consumer-packaged goods for food and/or beverage manufacturing
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Creative thinker with a results-driven mindset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of regulatory agency guidelines (OSHA, FDA, GMP, AIB) preferred
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English at a level sufficient to communicate effectively and perform job duties
Supervisory Responsibility
- Directly responsible for supervising the Plant Manager
- Provides leadership and direction to department managers and supervisory staff across plant operations
