Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages with precision and care
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for accurate retail sales transactions and cash handling
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, adhering to food safety and food handling standards
- Assist customers with menu selections, answer questions about products, and provide friendly service to enhance their experience
- Manage food preparation tasks including serving baked goods or light snacks while ensuring food safety protocols are followed
- Handle cash register operations efficiently, including basic math calculations for transactions and change accuracy
- Support inventory management by restocking supplies, monitoring product freshness, and recording sales data
Skills
- Proven experience as a barista or in food service environments with café experience preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for retail sales transactions and cashiering
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
- Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently while maintaining quality standards
- Knowledge of food safety practices, food handling, and basic math for cash handling and retail math calculations
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced retail or café setting
- Basic understanding of the food industry, serving techniques, and food preparation processes
