Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists and physicians to implement treatment plans designed to improve patients' mobility, relieve pain, and enhance overall physical function. You will provide hands-on patient care in two locations; Ala moana Medical building and Kunia shopping center.
Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists in developing and executing individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Conduct therapeutic exercises and activities within plan of care created by the supervising physical therapist.
- Monitor patient progress and report changes in condition or response to treatment.
- Educate patients and their families on exercise techniques and home care strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress notes.
- Ensure a safe and clean environment for patients during therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
Skills
- New grads welcome.
- Experience with post operative rehabilitation.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to effectively assist in patient care.
- Experience in various settings such as outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, home health, or skilled nursing facilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practices.
- Ability to perform manual therapy techniques when necessary.
- Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting patient care.
