Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Optometrist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background, excellent patient care skills, and a passion for providing top-notch eye care in a bustling urban environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive eye exams for patients of all ages.
- Diagnose and treat visual conditions, including nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, and presbyopia.
- Prescribe corrective lenses (glasses and contact lenses) based on individual patient needs.
- Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries (if applicable).
- Manage and treat ocular diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.
- Educate patients on proper eye care and the use of corrective lenses.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Collaborate with our team of ophthalmologists, opticians, and support staff to ensure exceptional patient outcomes.
- Stay current on advancements in optometry and attend continuing education as required.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry school.
- Valid New York State Optometrist license (or ability to obtain).
- Strong clinical skills and experience in diagnosing and treating eye conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Experience interpreting advanced optometry technologies (e.g., OCT, fundus photography) is a plus.
- Bilingual (Spanish) a plus but not required.
