American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a NICU position in Illinois, requiring a minimum of 2 years of NICU experience, Epic proficiency, and an IL RN license.

Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week

Neonatal ICU (NICU) setting within a Level 3 or higher facility
-
Patient population includes neonates requiring intensive care monitoring and intervention

Epic EMR experience is required

Active Illinois RN license in good standing required; temporary license accepted

Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)

Current NRP certification (American Heart Association)

Minimum 2–3 years of NICU nursing experience required

Experience at a Level 1 Trauma, Level 3 or higher NICU facility required

Epic EMR proficiency required

Minimum education: ASN required; BSN preferred

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Responsibilities include completing initial patient assessments, developing and modifying plans of care, and participating in multidisciplinary rounds

Monitors intake and output for neonatal patient assignments

Assists mothers with breastfeeding initiation and baby-friendly care practices

Administers medications using barcode scanning technology

Maintains accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation to support the healthcare team

RTO is not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract

Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment for more than 1 year at this health system; a 6-month break in service is required before returning to any location within the health system
