Summary
The Parking Enforcement Official, under the general supervision of the Manager, monitors designated parking route and issues citations; provides quality customer service in person and by phone. This role also assists the front office staff during inclement weather and short staffed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitors designated parking route, walks\drives approximately 12 miles per day
- Issues parking citations for vehicles violating Downtown Parking Ordinances outlined in Chapter 37
- Records data such as time, date, and location of incidents
- Operates and maintains a parking enforcement vehicle, as assigned
- Assists office personnel as needed with clerical duties between parking enforcement routes, during inclement weather, or as assigned by a supervisor, clerical duties may include filing, assisting with phones, sorting mail, making copies, and other related activities
- Notifies businesses of parking concerns noticed during enforcement rounds
- Explains parking rules to the public and answers questions
- Installs and removes various locking devices to immobilize vehicles as required
- Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
- Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Parking enforcement experience
