Beacon Concierge Nursing is a nurse-owned, private-pay concierge nursing practice based in Canton, MA. We provide hospital-caliber skilled nursing care in the home, built around each client's individual needs and schedule. Our nurses bring hospital-level clinical expertise directly into clients' homes, offering an alternative to standard home health with more consistent, one-on-one attention.
POSITION SUMMARY
Beacon is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide in-home post-operative care for clients recovering from plastic and cosmetic surgery procedures. This role covers recovery visits ranging from scheduled 1-hour check-ins to extended or 24/7 coverage during the critical early recovery period, supporting clients directly in their homes following procedures performed at partnering surgical practices and hospitals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide skilled post-operative assessments, including incision/wound checks and monitoring for signs of infection or complications
- Manage surgical drains, compression garments, and dressing changes per surgeon's post-op protocol
- Administer and manage pain medication and other prescribed medications
- Monitor vital signs and overall recovery progress, escalating to the surgeon's office as needed
- Assist with mobility, positioning, and personal care during the early recovery period
- Provide client and family education on post-op care instructions and recovery expectations
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation and communicate updates to Beacon's care team and the client's surgeon
QUALIFICATIONS
- Active, unencumbered Massachusetts RN license
- Minimum 2+ years of clinical nursing experience
- Experience with post-surgical/post-operative patient care
- Current BLS certification (ACLS a plus)
- Reliable transportation for in-home visits
PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Prior experience in plastic/cosmetic surgery recovery, med-surg, or PACU (post-anesthesia care unit)
- Comfort with drain management, compression garment care, and wound care
- Home health or private-duty nursing experience
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with surgical practices and families
SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION
Flexible per-visit and per-diem scheduling based on client needs; compensation is competitive and based on experience. Discuss current openings and rates directly with Beacon's Director of Nursing.
