The Table HBG is looking for a friendly, energetic, and dependable Barista Cashier to join our team. You’ll be one of the faces our customers see when they walk through the door, helping create the warm, welcoming experience that makes people want to come back.
From crafting great coffee and specialty drinks to taking orders and keeping things running smoothly, you’ll play an important role in making The Table a place people love to visit.
And yes — great service pays off! Our baristas start at $8–$10/hour depending on experience, plus a strong tip program. Our team typically earns around $14–$18/hour in total compensation, depending on hours, business volume, and tips.
What You'll Be Doing
Make great drinks – Prepare coffee, espresso drinks, tea, smoothies, and specialty beverages according to our recipes and quality standards.
-Take care of our guests – Greet customers warmly, take food and beverage orders accurately, answer questions, and make every guest feel welcome.
-Handle the register – Use our POS system to process cash, credit card, and mobile payments accurately and efficiently.
-Keep things moving – Stay organized and focused during busy mornings and lunch rushes while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Keep it clean – Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting café, including counters, equipment, food-preparation areas, and seating areas.
- Stay stocked – Help restock beverages, supplies, display cases, and other items so the team is always ready for the next customer.
- Follow food safety standards – Properly handle food and beverages and maintain a safe, sanitary workspace.
- Be a team player – Jump in wherever you're needed and help create a positive environment for both our customers and your coworkers.
What We're Looking For
We're not necessarily looking for someone with years of experience. We're looking for the right person.
You should be:
- Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable talking with customers
- Reliable and dependable
- Positive and easy to work with
- Able to multitask and stay organized during busy periods
- Comfortable handling cash and basic math
- Detail-oriented when taking orders and processing payments
- Willing to learn and take direction
- Someone who takes pride in their work
Previous barista, café, restaurant, cashier, or customer-service experience is highly preferred, but we're willing to train the right person.
Experience with POS systems such as Aloha or Micros is a plus. We do use Toast POS.
Food safety and food-handling experience is also a plus.
The Schedule
We are primarily a morning and daytime café, making this a great opportunity for someone who enjoys having their evenings free.
Part-time and full-time opportunities are available.
The position requires standing for extended periods and occasionally lifting light equipment or supplies.
