MLCO Construction | Full-Time | Wichita, KS (On-Site)
Build Something That Lasts -
MLCO Construction is North America's first choice in storage solutions, providing end-to-end development, design, and construction expertise. Operating in (24) states and growing, we're known for professionalism, flexibility, creativity, and consistently delivering high-quality storage facilities — from self-storage and recreational to industrial and luxury projects. We collaborate closely with private equity firms, developers, and strategic partners, with a deep understanding of the drivers that influence project returns.
We're looking for a Field Superintendent who takes ownership of the jobsite from mobilization to close-out. If you thrive on keeping projects safe, on schedule, and built right — and you can lead geographically dispersed teams with confidence — we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do. You'll oversee day-to-day field operations for storage construction projects from pre-construction through closeout, reporting to the Project Manager and serving as the on-the-ground leader for field staff, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Lead the site. Take control of the project at mobilization — coordinate surveys and staking, kick off earthwork, set up SWPPP, and manage deliveries and materials so the job never stalls.
Own safety and quality. Enforce safety protocols and regulatory compliance, conduct Toolbox Talks, and ensure every installation meets contract specs, building codes, and the quality standards our clients expect.
Drive the schedule. Track progress of crews and subs, conduct site inspections (virtual and in-person as required), proactively resolve construction issues and conflicts, and keep the project schedule updated in Procore with daily and weekly reporting.
Manage change. Create and validate change events (T&M overages, design changes), execute approved change work on time, support budget adherence, and document everything with photos in Procore.
Close it out strong. Lead owner walk-throughs and training, drive punch list completion, obtain the TCO and Certificate of Occupancy, and contribute lessons learned to the continuous improvement of our construction practices.
What You Bring -
- Experience in commercial construction supervision, preferably with storage, industrial, or similar facility projects, including managing subcontractors and field activities.
- Strong project coordination skills, including schedule management, progress tracking, and issue resolution in collaboration with project managers and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of construction methods, building codes, safety regulations, and quality control standards, with a commitment to maintaining safe, compliant job sites
- Proficiency with construction management software (Procore experience a plus), digital documentation tools, and remote communication platforms for overseeing geographically dispersed projects
- Effective communication and leadership abilities to guide on-site teams, build positive relationships with partners, and represent MLCO professionally
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple projects or priorities, and travel to job sites as required
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred
- Relevant certifications such as OSHA safety training or construction supervision credentials are an asset
