EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, assist bus driver and students with bus ingress and egress including assisting with equipment that may accompany student. Maintain student safety and monitor student behavior. Assist driver in performing required operational and safety inspections. Communicate effectively with students, parents, district staff members and other concerned people regarding all aspects of their job-related activities.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of first aid.

Knowledge of safe driving practices.

Ability to work in a friendly manner with co-workers and students.

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Assist with Bus Ingress and Egress: Support students in safely boarding and exiting the bus; Aid in managing equipment that students may have with them during transit.

Ensure Student Safety: Monitor and prioritize the safety of students during bus transportation; Respond promptly to any safety concerns or emergencies.

Behavioral Monitoring: Observe and manage student behavior during bus rides; Intervene when necessary to maintain a safe and respectful environment.

Operational and Safety Inspections: Collaborate with the bus driver to perform required operational and safety inspections; Report any issues or concerns promptly to the supervisor.

Effective Communication: Communicate clearly and efficiently with students, parents, district staff, and other relevant individuals; Provide information regarding job-related activities and address inquiries or concerns effectively.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with the assigned supervisor and bus driver to ensure smooth transportation operations; Collaborate with colleagues to address any challenges or improve processes.

Emergency Response: Be prepared to respond to emergency situations promptly and efficiently; Follow established protocols and procedures for emergency scenarios.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, inspections, and incidents; Report any notable occurrences to the supervisor in a timely manner.

Equipment Management: Ensure proper handling and storage of equipment on the bus; Report any issues with equipment promptly for maintenance or replacement.

Professional Development: Participate in training sessions to stay updated on safety protocols and job-related skills; Seek opportunities for professional growth and development.

Adherence to Policies: Follow established district policies and procedures related to student transportation; Stay informed about any updates or changes in policies.

Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to students, parents, and other stakeholders; Address inquiries and concerns in a courteous and helpful manner.
