Job Overview
Hangry Dog is seeking a dependable and motivated Line Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate is passionate about preparing high-quality food, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and works well as part of a team. Responsibilities include preparing and cooking menu items to company standards, maintaining a clean and organized workstation, following food safety and sanitation guidelines, assisting with food prep and inventory, and ensuring orders are completed accurately and efficiently. Line Cook Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to Hangry Dog recipes and quality standards.
- Set up and stock workstations with all necessary ingredients and supplies before each shift.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen at all times.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Ensure food is prepared accurately, consistently, and in a timely manner during busy service periods.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including grills, fryers, and food prep equipment.
- Monitor food quality, freshness, and portion sizes.
- Restock ingredients and notify management when inventory is running low.
- Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries.
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
- Complete opening, closing, and daily cleaning duties.
- Maintain a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dependable attendance.
- Follow instructions from kitchen management and support other team members as needed.
Experience
- Previous experience as a line cook, prep cook, or in a fast-paced kitchen is highly preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety is required
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment while maintaining quality and accuracy.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and food safety procedures.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work evenings and weekends.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Food Handler's Certification is required by local regulations.
- Willingness to learn, take direction, and contribute to a positive team environment.
Pay: Up to $18.00 per hour
