American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma teaching hospital in Salem, OR, requiring telemetry experience and Epic proficiency.

Short-term acute care hospital setting with 569 staffed beds, holding Magnet, Teaching, and Level II Trauma Center designations

Med/Surg Telemetry unit with a 1:4 RN patient ratio

Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)

Every other weekend required
-
Floating may be required within the facility or to a nearby affiliate hospital (approximately 15 minutes away); refusal to float may result in contract cancellation

Charts using Epic EMR

Royal blue scrubs required
-
Free on-site parking available

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius restriction

Active Oregon RN license required
-
Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required

Minimum 1 year of MS/Tele experience within the last 3 years required

Must be able to interpret and manage dysrhythmias

Experience with rapid response team activation required

Skills required: O2 protocol, non-invasive airway management, peripheral line care/management, isolation precautions/PPE, and computerized documentation

Epic EMR experience required — no exceptions

COVID vaccination required; no exemptions accepted

Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, peripheral line management, oxygen administration, and rapid response team participation

Block scheduling is not available

RTO must be finalized prior to consideration and cannot be modified after submission; additional requests may result in removal from consideration or contract cancellation; requests exceeding 2 weeks require facility approval

Pre-assignment and annual online modules are required and are completed separately from new employee orientation

Former permanent employees of Salem Health Hospitals and Clinics must have been separated for at least 6 months before being eligible to work as a traveler

Any license or background discrepancies will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and require a written statement from the candidate
