Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our healthcare team during the morning shift. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of clinical procedures. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality support to patients across various care settings, including long-term care facilities, hospitals, and community-based environments. Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote comfort and independence.
- Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Support medical staff by preparing patients for examinations or procedures, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Facilitate patient transfer methods using equipment such as Hoyer lifts and ensure safe manual handling practices are followed at all times.
- Administer basic medication assistance under supervision, adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Document patient care activities thoroughly in medical records while ensuring compliance with healthcare documentation standards.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to address needs and provide emotional support.
- Assist with specialized care requirements including Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, hospice support, or behavioral health needs when applicable.
Requirements
- Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with current licensure in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Prior experience working in long-term care facilities, hospitals, assisted living communities, or home care environments preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and basic life support (BLS) certification.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring specialized memory or behavioral health care.
- Familiarity with electronic PCC Charting
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and follow safe lifting practices during patient transfers or manual handling tasks.
- Strong caregiving skills complemented by excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
