Exodus Academy is seeking a passionate, organized, and student-centered Math Teacher to join our team. This position serves students in grades 1–8 through a unique multi-age classroom model. Rather than teaching a single grade level, the Math Teacher will work with small groups of students spanning one to two grade levels at a time, providing targeted instruction and support based on student needs.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about making math engaging and accessible, skilled in classroom management, and experienced working with diverse learners, including neurodivergent students. ResponsibilitiesMathematics Instruction
- Teach mathematics to students in grades 1–8 through small-group instruction.
- Implement engaging lessons using hands-on manipulatives, visual supports, and interactive learning strategies.
- Lead daily math warm-ups and skill-building activities that may involve multiple age groups (such as multiplication fact fluency, number sense, and mental math practice).
- Differentiate instruction to meet students where they are academically and support varying learning styles.
- Monitor student progress and provide intervention and enrichment as needed.
- Maintain an organized and positive learning environment that supports student success.
Assessment & Record Keeping
- Plan, administer, and grade assessments.
- Conduct regular notebook checks and provide meaningful feedback to students.
- Maintain accurate grade records and communicate student progress as needed.
- Use assessment data to guide instruction and support student growth.
Homeroom Responsibilities
- Serve as a homeroom teacher.
- Teach Bible and facilitate daily homeroom activities.
- Foster a positive classroom culture rooted in Christian values and character development.
Student Support & Classroom Management
- Effectively manage behavior and maintain a productive learning environment within a dynamic multi-age classroom setting.
- Demonstrate strong time management skills to keep students engaged and on task.
- Build positive relationships with students and families.
- Support students with diverse learning needs, including neurodivergent learners.
- Collaborate with administration and fellow teachers to ensure student success.
QualificationsRequired
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Strong understanding of elementary and middle school mathematics concepts.
- Experience working with children in educational settings.
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively teach and engage students across multiple grade levels.
- Familiarity with neurodivergent learners and inclusive teaching practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the mission and Christian values of Exodus Academy.
Preferred
- Teaching certification (not required unless otherwise specified).
- Experience teaching in a small school, microschool, homeschool co-op, or multi-age classroom environment.
- Experience with hands-on and project-based learning approaches.
