JOB The Human Resources Director serves as the City's sole HR professional and is responsible for leading all human resources functions for the City of Detroit Lakes. This position partners closely with City leadership, department heads, supervisors, union representatives, and employees to support a high-performing workforce dedicated to serving the community. Responsibilities include recruitment and onboarding, payroll and benefits administration, employee relations, policy development and interpretation, compensation and classification administration, labor relations, collective bargaining support, compliance with employment laws, leave administration, employee engagement initiatives, and organizational development projects. The Human Resources Director provides both strategic guidance and day-to-day HR support while helping attract, develop, and retain qualified employees across all City departments.
