The Internal Auditor and Properties Manager serves the Bishop and the Diocese through protecting the assets of the parish entities by reviewing all processes and procedures for parishes to make sure they are following the Diocesan policy handbook – the Pastoral Manual - The Internal Auditor and Properties Manager will perform periodic audits of parishes to ensure compliance with policies and that projects are on schedule.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS include the following:
Parish Financial Review
● Assists in the receiving and reporting of diocesan parish financial information to the diocesan pastoral center.
● Performs reviews of parish tax assessments and financial reports to ensure they are filled out timely and accurately.
● Performs periodic financial audits of parishes.
● Performs ongoing financial analysis of parishes to make sure they are financially healthy.
● Other duties may be assigned.
Properties Management
· Perform review and approval of projects at parishes to make sure they are following diocesan policy and allow Bishop to make an informed decision on reviewing capital projects
· Make sure all properties are up to building code, performing building audits in tandem with financial audits
· Other duties may be assigned
Financial Reporting
· From time to time, you may be assigned duties to assist with the preparation and reporting of financial reports. This may be for the annual audit or to prepare for reporting to volunteer committees

● Signs Confidentiality Agreement; handles confidential and sensitive information in a professional manner.
● Catholic in good standing who is registered and active in a parochial or religious community.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field at an accredited institution.
- Work experience in a previous finance or accounting role.
- Work experience in a previous internal audit role is a plus
- Completes VIRTUS training within 14 days of hire.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Good oral and written English-language communication skills.
OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ATTITUDES
- Knowledge of the basic tenets of Catholic Church.
- Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good time management skills including ability to manage several projects at the same time is required.
- Must be supportive of the mission and tenets of the Roman Catholic Church.
- Must have professional demeanor.
Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
