Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Phlebotomy Teacher to join our team at Chicago Instruction Center for Career Development. This role includes teaching phlebotomy in both clinical and public-school environments, including high school settings, and requires flexibility and strong classroom management skills.
Responsibilities:
- Teach phlebotomy courses to students of various skill levels, including high school students in public school settings
- Develop and implement lesson plans, assignments, and exams aligned with instructional standards
- Provide academic advising, mentoring, and professional guidance to students
- Maintain a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment appropriate for a school-based setting
- Stay current with phlebotomy trends, best practices, and instructional methods
- Maintain accurate student records and report student progress to administration
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in a relevant field preferred
- Without an Associate’s Degree, the instructor must obtain certification through NPA or AMT within 3–6 months
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on phlebotomy experience
- Prior experience teaching or training students, preferably in a public school or high school setting
- Ability to work flexibly within a school environment and adapt to varying schedules and student needs
- Mature, professional demeanor with strong classroom management and communication skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and school personnel
