The Osceola County Engineer’s Office will be accepting applications through 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026 for an equipment operator position. Applications may be obtained at the Osceola County Engineer’s Office (712-754-2303) or online at www.osceolacountyia.gov/departments/engineer/
Applicants shall be at least 18 years of age with a valid Iowa Driver License and provide proof of insurance. Prior experience in construction and operating equipment is desirable. A valid Class A CDL is required. The county can provide a forgivable loan for CDL training. Work hours may be more than 8 hours per day, dependent upon work needs and season. The position’s primary duties are assisting the mechanic with general equipment maintenance and operating a maintainer for snow removal in the Sibley Shop. The position can also be tasked with mowing, spraying, hauling gravel, laying road pipe, crack sealing, and patching roads. Must be able to negotiate uneven terrain and lift 60 pounds. The position is subject to Federal Drug and Alcohol Testing and a pre-employment physical.
Pay: $27.86 - $31.95 per hour
