Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Wood Framing Foreman to lead and oversee commercial and multifamily framing projects. In this role, you will coordinate daily operations on construction sites, manage teams of skilled carpenters and laborers, and ensure that projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Your expertise in construction management software, blueprint reading, and crew supervision will drive project success from start to finish. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise framing crews, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Coordinate construction schedules using Primavera P6 or similar project management tools to meet deadlines and optimize workflow.
- Review construction drawings and schematics for accuracy; interpret technical details to guide team activities effectively.
- Manage daily site operations, including material logistics, safety compliance (OSHA standards), and quality control measures.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop budgets, monitor costs, and ensure projects stay within financial parameters.
- Enforce federal construction safety regulations and oversee crew management to maintain a safe working environment at all times.
- Conduct regular site inspections using tools such as ohmmeters for electrical checks; review construction schedules; supervise subcontractors when applicable.
- Maintain clear communication with management regarding project progress, issues, and safety concerns; manage team performance through effective managerial communication.
Experience
- Proven experience managing heavy timber framing or wood framing projects in commercial or residential construction environments.
- Extensive background in construction site experience with a focus on blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, and schematics.
- Demonstrated ability to manage teams in a construction management role with supervisory experience supervising crews of various sizes.
- Familiarity with construction management software such as ProCore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6 or Primavera P6 for scheduling; HeavyBid for estimating; Construction safety management systems.
- Knowledge of construction regulations including OSHA standards and federal safety regulations specific to construction sites.
- Strong understanding of construction estimating, budgeting, project scheduling, quality control practices, and contract management.
- Experience supervising complex projects requiring detailed coordination of construction schedule activities and resource allocation.
- Excellent communication skills necessary for managing teams effectively while liaising with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
