The Telephonic Enrollment Specialist is responsible for assisting Medicare-eligible beneficiaries in understanding, selecting, and enrolling in Medicare Advantage and related health plans over the phone. This role requires an active Health Insurance License, strong sales and customer service skills, and strict adherence to CMS, HIPAA, and company compliance guidelines. The specialist will handle inbound and outbound calls, conduct needs assessments, explain plan benefits, and complete compliant telephonic enrollments.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle inbound and outbound calls from Medicare beneficiaries and prospective members.
- Educate consumers on Medicare Advantage, Prescription Drug Plans (Part D), and supplemental coverage options.
- Conduct needs-based consultations to identify appropriate plan options.
- Explain benefits, provider networks, prescription coverage, costs, and eligibility requirements.
- Complete telephonic enrollments in accordance with CMS regulations and company procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation and update customer information in CRM systems.
- Follow approved sales scripts, compliance requirements, and quality standards.
- Meet or exceed enrollment, productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction goals.
- Protect confidential member information in compliance with HIPAA requirements.
- Participate in ongoing training, product updates, and licensing requirements.
Qualifications
- Active Health Insurance License (resident state license required; additional state licenses preferred).
- AHIP Certification or ability to obtain annually.
- Previous Medicare Advantage sales, enrollment, or health insurance experience preferred.
- Call center, telesales, or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong communication, listening, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to navigate multiple computer systems and CRM platforms.
- Working knowledge of Medicare, CMS regulations, and enrollment procedures.
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Medicare Advantage (MA/MAPD) sales experience.
- Consultative selling and objection-handling abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented call center environment.
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
