Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing and arranging surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies according to aseptic techniques.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, suturing wounds, and managing surgical tools with precision.
- Ensure strict adherence to infection prevention protocols and hospital policies to minimize healthcare-associated infections.
- Operate medical equipment safely and efficiently, including sterilizers, endoscopes, and other specialized surgical devices.Requirements
- Proven experience as a Surgical Technician in hospital environments or ambulatory surgery centers.
- Demonstrated expertise in handling surgical instruments, medical equipment sterilization, and aseptic techniques.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, trauma care procedures, and treatment of fractures.
- Experience assisting with complex surgeries such as cardiovascular, neurosurgery, orthopedic, or pediatric procedures is highly desirable.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications in trauma or critical care are a plus.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or similar platforms for medical records management.
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to monitor vital signs and respond swiftly to patient needs during operations.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers or ICU settings.
- Strong understanding of infection control practices and hospital safety protocols to prevent healthcare-associated infections.
