We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Project Manager (PE/PG) to lead environmental compliance, engineering, and regulatory projects for federal agencies, including the Department of Defense (DoD). The duties of this position include project leadership, technical oversight, client management, and staff development responsibilities. The successful candidate will oversee multidisciplinary teams, manage complex project portfolios, and serve as a trusted advisor to clients.

Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex environmental compliance, engineering, and remediation projects.
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, staffing plans, and resource allocations.
- Monitor project financial performance, including forecasting, cost control, invoicing, and contract administration.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with applicable regulations and client requirements.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, quality assurance, quality control, and stakeholder communications.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, consultants, contractors, and client representatives.
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical oversight for environmental investigations, engineering evaluations, compliance assessments, remediation projects, and construction activities.
- Review and approve technical reports, work plans, specifications, drawings, and project deliverables.
- Support innovative and sustainable solutions that meet client objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain technical excellence and promote continuous improvement across project teams.
Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor, develop, and support project managers, engineers, scientists, and technical staff.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on safety, quality, and professional development.
- Provide guidance on project execution, resource management, and career development.
- Manage and conduct projects with the objective of maintaining client compliance with federal and state requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, Geoscience, or a related technical discipline; Master’s in Management or Engineering is highly desirable.
- Active registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG).
- Minimum 10 years of experience managing environmental compliance, engineering, or consulting projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing project budgets, schedules, contracts, proposals, and client deliverables.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state environmental regulations and compliance programs.
- Experience supporting DoD agencies, including organizations such as: Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Air Force Civil Engineer Center
- Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and client communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision while thriving in a collaborative team environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and applicable environmental and project management software.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites, client meetings, and field locations as needed.
- Ability to obtain and maintain access to federal facilities and DoD installations.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening, motor vehicle records (MVR) review, and applicable federal background checks.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
