Pay: $10.00/hour + Tips
Hosts earn $10.00 per hour plus tips received from carryout and delivery orders. Current hosts typically earn approximately $10–$17 per hour, depending on business volume and guest gratuities.
Schedule
We are hiring for all shifts, including lunch, dinner, weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Flexible scheduling is available for qualified applicants.
Typical shift times include:
- Day Shift: Approximately 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Evening Shift: Approximately 3:00 PM – 10:00 PM or 11:00 PM
Position Summary
The Host/Cashier is the first and last impression our guests have of Serafini's Trattoria. This position is responsible for warmly welcoming guests, managing reservations and waitlists, seating guests efficiently, answering phones, coordinating takeout and delivery orders, and processing guest payments.
This is a fast-paced position that requires excellent customer service, organization, and attention to detail. Hosts are responsible for accurately packaging and bagging all carryout and third-party delivery orders, ensuring every order is complete, correct, and presented professionally before leaving the restaurant. Tips left by guests on carryout and delivery orders belong to the host working that shift. Hosts also assist with the overall flow of the dining room and support the front-of-house team to ensure every guest receives outstanding service.

Responsibilities
- Welcome every guest with a friendly and professional attitude
- Manage reservations, walk-ins, and waitlists
- Seat guests efficiently while maintaining table rotation
- Answer incoming phone calls and assist guests with questions
- Process cash, credit card, and POS transactions accurately
- Coordinate, verify, package, and bag all carryout and third-party delivery orders
- Ensure every takeout and delivery order is complete, accurate, and includes all necessary utensils, condiments, and accompaniments
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand
- Assist servers, bartenders, and management during busy periods
- Provide menus and answer basic questions about food and beverages
- Follow all cash-handling, health, and safety procedures
- Complete opening and closing duties
- Help maintain a smooth flow throughout the restaurant
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or customer service experience preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, positive, and professional attitude
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable handling cash and operating a POS system
- Basic math skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Reservation system experience (Toast Tables or similar) is a plus
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
