Job Title: Pit Loader Operator
Hourly Pay: Starting at $28.25/hr
Position Summary:
The Pit Loader Operator is an important position at the quarry site that drives to efficiently meet production requirements. This position runs a large excavator or loader and moves material around the quarry for processing and sales. The Pit Loader Operator must keep safety top of mind when operating by performing pre-shift inspections and preventative maintenance on the equipment. This position is great for someone who prefers to work alone.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be eighteen years of age or older
- Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
- Must have a track-record of being a dependable employee
Duties and Responsibilities:
- High level of comfort running large excavator and/or loader safely and efficiently to meet production requirements
- Able to handle stress and responsibility that accompanies position
- Load materials to ensure proper finished product quality at processing plant
- Maintain smooth loading surface on haul road for haul trucks in pit area (for hard rock)
- Operate excavator and/or loader within the company guidelines and safety standards
- Perform daily pre-shift inspection of equipment and report needed repairs to the supervisor
- Performs preventative maintenance procedures such as lubrication and is responsible for good housekeeping of equipment
- Aide in the training of co-workers as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Essential Functions, Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
· Pre-employment drug screening
· Able to work outdoors in most weather conditions
· Able to work in a physically rigorous work environment. Position may involve walking, standing, sitting, bending, and climbing stairs. Job may require crouching, stooping, or crawling.
· Able to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
· Able to climb steps/ladders
· Able to sit for hours
· Able to shovel material
