Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate, experienced, and student-centered Head Instructor to lead our academic team and help students reach their full potential. This leadership role combines educational instruction, staff management, parent communication, and center operations. The ideal candidate has a strong educational background, experience working with students from preschool through high school, and a commitment to creating positive learning experiences.
As the Head Instructor, you will oversee instructional quality, support tutor development, monitor student progress, build relationships with families, and assist with daily center operations. This is a hands-on leadership position that requires both teaching and management responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of tutors and instructors to ensure high-quality academic instruction and student engagement.
- Provide direct tutoring support to students in reading, writing, mathematics, study skills, and academic enrichment as needed.
- Conduct student assessments and analyze academic performance, including STAR Reading and STAR Math assessment data.
- Develop individualized learning plans and monitor student progress toward academic goals.
- Train, coach, and support tutors in instructional strategies, classroom management, and student engagement techniques.
- Build strong relationships with students and families through regular communication, conferences, and academic updates.
- Collaborate with center leadership to manage daily operations, scheduling, staffing, and program implementation.
- Support student enrollment, onboarding, and academic placement processes.
- Maintain accurate student records, assessment data, session notes, and progress reports.
- Ensure instructional programs align with center standards and educational best practices.
- Foster a positive, welcoming, and growth-focused learning environment for students of all ages.
- Address parent concerns professionally and provide recommendations to support student success.
- Assist with special events, workshops, student conferences, and community outreach initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, Special Education, English, Mathematics, or a related field required.
- Teaching credential, educational leadership experience, or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working with students in an educational setting.
- Experience working with students from preschool through high school.
- Knowledge and experience administering and interpreting STAR Reading and STAR Math assessments.
- Strong understanding of child development, learning differences, and effective instructional practices.
- Experience supervising, training, or mentoring staff members preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and team members.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to analyze academic data and develop targeted intervention strategies.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while balancing instructional and operational responsibilities.
- Ability to tutor multiple subjects and grade levels when needed.
